There will be six Local Tourist Associations across Fife, one will cover the Cupar and Howe of Fife area. If you would like to give us your views about this please add a comment in the box below.

I think establishing this group is a great idea. The Howe of Fife community web portal www.smartcommunityfife.org.uk has approx 120 tourism-related businesses and organisations listed in its directory alone. This list is far from exhaustive and doesn't include Cupar - so there's already lots of potential for local operators to network more & support / leverage from existing events and activites.

We know we live in beautiful part of Scotland that has much to offer visitors, but Cupar & the Howe suffers from a lack of identity (vs St Andrews or the East Neuk). The formation of a LTA in this area, will I am sure, give stakeholders the opportunity to help define, build and market a unique identity of our own, that will hopefully encourage visitors to stay longer and spend more.

Please get involved and have your say!

I think this is a great opportunity for local businesses to work together, and for us to promote all the wonderful places to visit in the Cupar and Howe of Fife area.

I hope you will join us!

I think this type of group is essential to ensure a local voice for tourism. Grass roots operators are the life blood of Scottish tourism and LTA's such as the one proposed for Cupar and Howe of Fife can make an important contribution to the future of tourism in thr local area.

How does one get more involved in this group?

Many promising projects seem to fall by the wayside far too easily (mostly through lack of interest) and it would be good to see something like this take off and give us the opportunity to work together.

If you are interested in getting involved then take part in the poll and vote to say that you would like to be involved.

Hello there, and this is Griselda from the Wemyss Ware Pottery in Ceres.

I would certainly be interested in being part of a Cupar and Howe of Fife Tourism partnership.

I'd like to know more about it.  Would it be mainly to publicise attractions, or a lobbying body?  For example I'd dearly like better local brown signs which actually mention the Pottery (a VisitScotland 4* Visitor Attraction)but don't know how to go  about it!

Best wishes

Griselda

Hello Griselda,

you have to go through your local council for the brown signs. Contact someone from the planning department/development services and they will give you all the information you require.
